Short Bio:
Chris Steiner is Host of Liberation Station (TheLiberationStation.com) (a total of 20 months in 2009, 2018, and 2020-2021 on the TAN Talk Network of six Florida stations & 2021-2023 on Republic Broadcasting Network), a member of We Are CHANGE Tampa (WeAreCHANGETampa.org) since 2007 and an Organizer since 2010.
Since 1984 at 10 years old, Chris has been online, the tool he credits most for his greatest civic awakening in 1991, the year he turned 18 and the Internet became publicly-available, when researching candidates for his first election in 1992. Soon he learned so much neglected news, he felt inspired to become a chronic caller to talk shows and a fallacy assassin. By finding text files, often e-mails originating from the previously-sequestered Internet, he learned of material like what's in the book, George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography by Webster Griffin Tarpley, Ph.D., and Anton Chaitkin, and the documentary series, The Clinton Chronicles. After having hand-delivered several print-outs to local Democrat Party and Republican Party campaign offices, citing underreported dirt on the opposing presidential candidate that would help them ensure victory, and then following-up to ask their opinions, yet receiving no response each time, he found their continuity of silence spoke volumes. Why wouldn't they want to win? That's unless, of course, they're working together, against us. At least, Ross Perot warned us of the present, "giant sucking sound" of NAFTA and GATT.
Throughout the 1990's, Chris was active in weekly Pinellas County "patriot" meetings, mostly in Seminole, Florida, as he found them a rich resource of fellowship and knowledge. Complementing these meetings was experience he gained before the Internet became publicly-available in 1991, as he had already started on his path in soon becoming instrumental for online information distribution. In 1988, he began a free, dial-up BBS, based in Seminole, Florida, The Excelsior RBBS ([Remote] Bulletin Board System, an open-source software package he greatly modified). On The Excelsior RBBS, he accumulated public domain text and other educational files -- at the expense of thousands of dollars for the long-distance phone service needed to call around the country -- while offering e-mail forums on a wide variety of topics and even a type of social media in the form of personal interest questionnaires, the responses to which were posted for others to read. The Excelsior RBBS was promoted on his community access TV show, Questionable Authority (1993-1994), which was professionally-produced with an Amiga Video Toaster 4000, as well as on various radio talk shows, on Bill Cooper's shortwave radio show, The Hour of The Time, and at the end of each ExceList -- the only national listing of BBSs which carried patriot, suppressed, and little-known information -- which Chris compiled and edited from 1993 through 1996. From 1994 through 1997, he compiled and edited The Pinellas County BBS List, too. At the end of each ExceList, he also promoted and was soon gratified for reaching happy customers of his Patriot Library, which he compiled from 1993 to 1996, comprising public domain files, all freely available through The Excelsior RBBS and -- for a uniform fee for the copy service -- sold across the country in six volumes, each of 10 3.5" (1.44 Mb) disks in order to save the time and long-distance phone bills otherwise needed to download them. Since 1995, Chris began transitioning to the Internet, as an indicator of the increase of its popularity was a decrease in dial-up BBS popularity, which began around 1994. The final edition of ExceList in September 1996 has 332 BBSs listed, though there were many more at the peak, around 1995. Chris has found that even starting with a primitive "home computer" -- a TI-99/4A in 1983 and "IBM compatibles" starting in 1987 -- along with a fast modem, he could inspire many more to speak truth to power, having greater opportunities for bringing power to the truth.

Around the same time I started activism in 1992, I became acquainted with the late Bill Cooper and his wife, Annie Mordhorst, and called into his shortwave radio show, "The Hour of the Time," out of their home in Arizona. I'm honored that he offered, which I accepted, to trade my Patriot Library (files sold on disc) for his documents collection. I was impressed with his truth-seeking hunger when he promptly posted all the files from my Patriot Library on his CAJI (Citizens Agency for Joint Intelligence) BBS and promoted me on his show. We had also become digitally connected, he on my Excelsior BBS, and me on his CAJI BBS. From 1993 to 1996, I compiled my Patriot Library -- comprising public domain files, mostly text files like e-mails sent via Internet, which wasn't publicly available until 1991 -- freely available for download through my BBS and, for a uniform fee for the copy service, sold across the country in six volumes, each of 10 3.5" (1.44 Mb) disks, in order to save many the time and long-distance calling bills otherwise needed to download them. As Editor of ExceList -- the only national listing of BBSs which carried patriot, suppressed, and little-known information (1993-1996) -- I would advertise my Patriot Library in ExceList, which was uploaded to BBSs around the country, as well as both my Patriot Library and ExceList promoted on Bill Cooper's show and my Pinellas County community access show, "Questionable Authority." Due to the web becoming publicly-accessible in 1991, around the mid-1990's popularity of BBSs began to decline. I found an old copy of ExceList, April 16, 1994 edition (filename "EL041694.ZIP" at http://annex.retroarchive.org/cdrom/chst-strio-95/DIR2/EL041694.ZIP (found via the listing at http://annex.retroarchive.org/cdrom/chst-strio-95/DIR2/index.html - phone numbers listed are no longer BBSs; please don't call them)). That edition has 159 BBSs listed. The final edition of ExceList in September 1996 has 332 listed, though there were many more at the peak, around 1995. The file description within the ZIP file (above) I distributed to entice folks to call the BBSs on ExceList reads, "ExceList (4/16/94) National list of BBSs which carry patriot / suppressed information that government does not want the common person to know: exposure of the "new world order" history and motives, conspiracy / assassination evidence, court rulings, law books, proposed and current legislation, disregard for rights, revealing federal and IRS [lack of] authority, state citizenship, White House press releases, covert government operations, UFOs, man-made diseases, withheld cures, [preventative] health, diagrams for "secret" inventions, weather manipulation, free-energy machines, alternative energy sources, gun/people control, survivalism, being self-sufficient in all ways, communications, historical documents / articles, and many more specific topics."
The thousands of dollars I spent on long distance phone bills to find good BBSs, download files, years spent reading them in order to write detailed descriptions for the files listings, as searching through text files on BBSs wasn't available then, and distributing them to very grateful people was rewarding, having learned so much and met so many good folks like Bill Cooper. I would say rest in peace, though I know he's quite alive in Spirit.
